A Electronic lock is made up of a synchronous state machine with two state bits (S1. S0). The lock is equipped with two pushbuttons (“0” and “1”) which, when activated, change the machine’s condition, since the combination of pushbuttons is coded as an input signal b (b = 0 by pressing “0” and b = 1 by pressing “1”) to
the machine. Furthermore, the machine has an output, y.
The file is released when the state machine sets y = 1, which happens when and only when the last three presses on
the push buttons correspond to a particular combination.
